Arctic Monkeys postpone gigs due to singer's laryngitis
The day after they attended the Mercury Prize at London's Roundhouse,
they had to call off a Halloween night gig in Birmingham hours before
they were due on stage.
Friday's show in Glasgow has also been rescheduled.
A statement on the band's website says all tickets will remain valid for the rearranged dates.
The show at the LG Arena in Birmingham will now take place on
20 November and the show at the Glasgow Hydro will now take place on 21
November.
The statement read: "We wish to apologise to all ticket
holders for any inconvenience this has caused. Please contact the
customer services at the box office you purchased your tickets for any
further assistance."
Many fans had already travelled to the gig at the Birmingham LG Arena and found out while waiting at the venue.
Speaking to Newsbeat, 16-year-old fan Opal-Rose said she had flown home from her family holiday especially to see the band.
"The security guards told us the event was cancelled and we
all thought it was a Halloween prank at first and started laughing," she
said.
Their fifth album AM had been nominated at Wednesday night's Mercury Prize awards but lost out on the trophy to James Blake
